NYPD 2005 Women in Policing Conference

On Thursday, June 9th, the 2005 Women in Policing Conference was held at the NYPD Police Academy. The conference is dedicated to the enhancement of a unity of effort both within the department and with outside law enforcement agencies.

Being invited to speak at my 3rd Women in Policing Conference was an honor because these law enforcement professionals are so dedicated to protecting the people of the City of New York. They hold a very special place in my dedication to assisting law enforcement.

My topic for this year was titled Law Enforcement's Response to America’s Leadership Crisis. The agenda included insights on the crisis of character that has led to the many leadership scandals throughout the nation. It focused on the importance of law enforcement's adherence to high ethical principles and following a code of conduct worthy of their admired profession.

The conference was once again a success and truly inspiring for those in attendance.
